It's called the Agera-S and it's one of the fastest cars in the world..capable of going 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds..
and reaching a top speed of more than 260 miles per hour. During a sales launch in Singapore for the super car, Swedish designer Christian Von Koenigsegg said he found ways to make the car faster by designing it to be more efficient. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FOUNDER OF KOENIGSEGG AUTOMOTIVE AB, CHRISTIAN VON KOENIGSEGG, SAYING: "So what's interesting with extreme performance when it comes to hypercars is that we need efficient solutions, lightweight solutions, low drag aerodynamics solutions and this actually increases the performance of the car but it also makes it environmentally friendly because they have less mass to push around, you have less resistance to move away when it comes to the wind." The super car runs on standard gasoline, designed specifically for Asian markets where ethanol based fuels are less available. Koenigsegg says the car is constructed out of carbon fibre, a material that's weight is comparable to plastic, but has the same strength as steel. (SOUNDBITE) (English) FOUNDER OF KOENIGSEGG AUTOMOTIVE AB, CHRISTIAN VON KOENIGSEGG, SAYING: "Something very unique with this car is that it has even carbon fibre wheels, hollow carbon fibre wheels which are 40 percent lighter than the lightest forged aluminium wheel so this means when you are accelerating, breaking, you have less energy to put into the wheel and out of the wheel and that saves actually energy. So this is a technology we see coming in to more normal cars as well." Koenigsegg says what normal cars will not have any time soon is the power of the Agera's ultra-light turbo charged V8 engine which produces 1030 horsepower and 811 pounds of torque. And while Koenigsegg touts the Agera's environmental friendliness, sales manager Andreas Petre doubts energy efficiency has much to do with a decision to buy one of the fastest cars in the world. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KOENIGSEGG SALES MANAGER, ANDREAS PETRE, SAYING: "I don't think they buy the car because they are environmentally conscious but I think it comes as a bonus and they are happy about that, absolutely." The Agera doesn't come cheap - priced at $4.2 million dollars. Both Petre and Koenigsegg are hoping the super wealthy will have an appetite for their super car.
