“The debate will take place at a pivotal point in the 2016 election cycle, hosted two days after Super Tuesday and ahead of key primary votes in Michigan on March 8th and Florida and Ohio on March 15th,” Fox News said in its release.
Fox News is bringing back top talent: “Special Report” anchor Baier, “Kelly File” anchor Kelly and “Fox News Sunday” host Wallace.
Debate criteria for the candidates to participate will be announced closer to the event.
Fox News Channel just announced the details for the Fox News GOP debate on March 3 in Detroit, Michigan according to a press release. And they included a controversial announcement: It will be moderated by Megyn Kelly! Joining Kelly will be Chris Wallace and Bret Baier. And this critical debate will come just two days after Super Tuesday, when ten states host either their caucuses or primary elections. Including Kelly is a direct insult to Donald Trump, who refused to take part in the last Fox debate because of Kelly’s anti-Trump bias. Instead, he hosted his own event which raised more than $6 million for veterans.
Trump claimed that Kelly’s questions were not “professional” in the last Fox News debate he took part in. And while Trump is dominating every poll by historic margins, this causes a problem for his supporters if the campaign plans to continue beyond March 1.
Fox News’ credibility has also been called into question, as founder Rupert Murdoch is co-chairman of America’s largest pro-amnesty lobbying organization. Trump is so talented at arguing the case for secure borders that it may be in Murdoch’s best interest to destroy Trump.
